Professional Learning & Training

Transformative training tailored for you.

Legacy training workshops are evidence-based and are tailored to your specific needs. Workshops can be delivered in-person or virtually to staff and families to address any areas of concern. Prior to the training, we will contact your team to gain a deeper insight into the most pressing needs your school faces, and we will design your training around these.

Examples of Training We Offer for Schools

Dyslexia

When it comes to dyslexia, it can be difficult separating fact from fiction. This training answers the question What is Dyslexia? and offers an evidence-based framework and practical ideas for supporting individuals with literacy and learning difficulties. After attending this training, attendees will be able to:

  • Confidently make use of reading theory for supporting neurodiverse learners in their classroom

  • Possess a clear perspective the cognitive factors that affect dyslexia

  • Demonstrate a deeper knowledge of the skills involved in successful reading and how dyslexia impacts these

  • Create evidence-based resources to begin using immediately

Writing

This workshop will explore the key skills demonstrated by good writers, and give attendees the opportunity to take part in a writing intervention their students can use to self-monitor their own progress. Each attendee will walk away with:

  • An awareness of multiple writing supports available to children and young people

  • Experience what is like to receive a writing intervention

  • A better understanding of how students can evaluate their development as a writer by using a valuable, evidence-based writing tool

Communication & Neurodiversity

  • Understanding the communication challenges of pupils with literacy and learning differences

  • Effectively communicating with students with literacy and language difficulties

  • Improving verbal and non-verbal communication approaches for all students

Fair & Supportive Behavior Management

Math & Dyscalculia

This hands-on session will provide an in-depth understanding of the difficulties many students find with mathematics. After an interactive analysis of the underlying needs that contribute to math difficulties, each participant will leave with an awareness of how to:
